Papilles Restaurant Officially Opens December 19

Papilles will officially open its doors on December 19 with set menu dinners. The Parisian bistronomy has taken over the former Raffallo’s space on Franklin.
Papilles is a French restaurant inspired by the “bistronomique” movement in Paris. They strive to serve the same quality food as one might have at a Michelin starred French restaurant, but in a casual, bistro setting. They will offer a small menu of 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, a cheese course and a dessert, or you can choose from either a 3, 4 or 5-course meal with the menu changing weekly. Sample menu items include: Volute of Butternut Squash with Butternut Squash Foam OR Salad of Root Vegetables; Braised Veal Cheeks with Polenta OR Filet of Trout with Quinoa, Beets, and Nettle Reduction; Mahon, a Spanish cow-milk cheese; and Poached Pear with Vanilla Ice Cream.
Doing away with the conventional notion of a wine list, the owner is instead allowing customers to view bottles of wines that are stacked in racks along the walls like a gallery to choose from. Optional wine pairings are available and will be the only way you can have a by-the-glass wine.
