The Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, staged at the Grand Theatre on November 19, was a nail-bitingly tense affair, with 72 of the finest models competing in the "Best Complicated Watch". After much deliberation, the prestigious award went to Zenith’s Christophe Colomb Equation du Temps.
A tribute to the adventurous spirit of 15th century explorer Christopher Columbus, Christophe Columb Equation du Temps boasts three technical feats: equation of time, gyroscopic carriage and high frequency. Especially noteworthy is the gyroscopic carriage, located beneath the dome in a horizontal position so as to neutralize the effects of wrist movements on the regularity of its high-frequency calibre.
