The expected bid for this special edition doll is supposed to begin with a price point of $1,000.

Such became the fan following, that the term began common nomenclature across the world, and millions of girls around the world took a liking for it. This specially crafted one-off doll will now go on sale through charitybuzz, the proceeds of which will then be donated to Project Angel Food to cater to children who have been affected by AIDS. Speaking about this special project, Stephani Yocky, the spokesperson from Barbie mentions,
“Barbie is obviously a pop culture icon. She's been in the spotlight for over 50 years, and strikes that chord with girls of all ages in terms of being representative of the times. And Nicki is a big part of pop culture and also huge within the fashion industry, as well as a big Barbie fan. It's really exciting for us that she's been so generous to allow us to create this one-of-a-kind doll to support such an important cause.”From the looks of doll, we are told that the looks and style will be similar to what Nicki Minaj appears, on the cover of her new album, ‘Pink Friday’. With the busy 2012 she is going to have, the doll and its auctioning for a charitable cause just might be the perfect promotion strategy.
