In an age when muted curved lines and eco-friendly engines seem to be doing the rounds amongst super yachts, the latest entrant in the league is the Sevolution 26 by Italian shipyard BAIA yachts. Aimed at giving superior performance levels, while emitting low levels of carbon into the environment, this yacht looks like another chapter of sci-fi books, with a grey appearance to make do with, albeit with innovation in futuristic engine. If it were to be summarized, this yacht will be targeted for those who live for longer durations at sea instead of taking short trips.
After Greenyacht’s Zero 80, this is another yacht which will be using the photovoltaic cells for its main energy requirements. The propulsion on the engine however, will use a similar liquid fuel along with an innovation in motors used to give the yacht its much needed power, to touch the 22 knots speed mark. However, to gain the maximum in terms of cruising experience and engine efficiency, the makers of the yacht suggest speeds between 16-18 knots over an approximate distance of 1000 miles. To put it technically, the reasons for the dynamic engine is the optional POD or IPS system of transmission, which garners greater thrust for the vessel, enabling it to gain speed for naturally.
In terms of amenities, there is plenty of open area on the yacht to enjoy the beauty of nature. From the rear end of the hull, there is open relaxation area, with a small dining table and a couple of chairs which one can reach after crossing a couple of small staircases. This area could be more suitable for water sports and snorkeling, while a similar area is also present on the upper deck of the yacht. The front end however, contains an open area where sunbathing and open air dining are ideal activities. The tapered nose of the yacht actually makes it a perfect place to lay down your sun beds, and enjoy the warmth with a drink in hand perhaps. On the interiors, there is a connecting staircase which one to the upper deck where the piloting room is placed. Since the real yacht hasn’t yet been seen, we assume the master suite of the deck will also be placed here, along with the private sun-bathing area. However modifications in terms of the overall design are still open through the 26.6 and 29.6 models. So, if you are planning on expanding your fleet of eco-friendly yachts, this Sevolution 26 is indeed a worthy looker.
