With the Velvet collection, Roger Dubuis demonstrates its commitment to melding fine watchmaking with the world of haute joaillerie.
The principle piece in the Velvet collection, the Velvet Automatic features subtly curved contours and a brushed sunray dial. The Roman numerals, appearing to hover between the central barrel and the circle, create a trompe l’oeil – literally ‘fools the eye’ in French – on two levels, adding a dash of sophistication to the timepiece. Echoing the hour and minute hands, the VI and XII are etched in pink gold. The movement powering the Velvet Automatic, the RD821 caliber, is manufactured, assembled and regulated in Geneva, as certified by the Geneva Seal.
A tribute to Roger Dubuis’ design code, the bezel and bracelet are set with no less than 262 diamonds. 66 diamonds add a decorative halo to the bezel while the bracelet is bedecked with 196 diamonds, totaling 1.33 carats and 1.65 carats respectively.
