Nobody wants their makeup to look 'cakey', but this ultra-feminine, deliciously pastel-hued collaboration between French pastry house Ladurée and Japanese cosmetics brand Albion might just turn that pejorative into a compliment.
Albion, a Kosé subsidiary, has announced the release of a Spring 2012 collection of blushers, concealors and powder puffs, all inspired by and created in partnership with the famous macaroon makers Ladurée.
The cherry on top of the Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée cake, so to speak, has got to be the Face Color Rose Ladurée (above), available in three shades. Pressed into the shape of delicate rose petals and housed in a Fabergé egg-like receptacle, it will take a strong-willed lady to use the blusher, which looks almost too pretty to besmirch with your brush.
Other highlights - pun intended - include a cream-based cheek tint, available in five shades, and a pressed powder. The collection will be available in Japanese stores starting January 29, before being launched in Europe and the rest of Asia in Fall. Oh, and just one final note for all you sweet-faced lasses out there: the make-up line is, alas, not edible.
