Enzo Ferrari Museum

The Enzo Ferrari Museum has finally opened its doors in Modena, the home city in Italy, of the iconic race car maker. Started by Future Systems founder Jan Kaplický, London practice Shiro Studio had to take over the construction of the museum, under the direction of former Future Systems associate Andrea Morgante, after Kaplický had passed away in 2009.

Today the museum is comprised of two buildings, fusing the heritage of the brand with the constant drive for innovation. Enzo Ferrari’s former house and workshop makes up one part of the structure, now housing a 40 meter long gallery, and a brand new modern building is the second part of the structure, curving itself around the other one. The yellow aluminum roof is inspired by the Ferrari logo and the sliced incisions mimic the air intake vents on the bonnet of a car.
