Actually, this is part of the movie version of the 80s Broadway musical Rock of Ages.
Julianne Hough will play the character Sherrie Christian.
The movie is about a small town girl arriving in Hollywood at the height of the 1980 rock and roll music scene.
The cast of this big budget production includes Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston, Diego Boneta, Mary J. Blige, Jessica Guadix and Antonio Padin.
Hough also completed filming of Footloose a remake of the 1984 classic movie in which she plays the part of the wild dancer Ariel Moore, the part played by Lori Singer in the original production.

Julianne Hough is also a two-time winner of ABC Dancing with the Stars television show. She won Season 4 as the professional dance partner of Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno and completed a double in Season 5 with Indy 500 racer car driver Helio Castroneves. Julianne brother Derek Hough is also a profession dancer and has appeared on Dancing with the Stars.
