BECAUSE THE SUMMER IS NOT OVER!

(Dress - Lulus.com, Bag - Asos, Shoes - Giuseppe Zanotti, YSL Arti Ring, Kitson Necklace)

No, no, no, no!!! I simply refuse to believe that Summer is over! Honestly I really tried this year, I mean I looked at leopard print, I played with burgundies and browns, I tried on a few very cute winter jackets, jeez, I even bought a pair of fabulous dark purple pumps. Basically all of my usual tricks for making this transition a little less difficult, surely shoes alone should have done it:) Yet nothing! I suppose I am simply not ready to let go just yet. So, I bought this dress and fully intend to wear it well into December, ok maybe November:)

If I can wear open-toe shoes it's still Summer, right?
Love,
Annabelle

TOYING WITH TRANSPARENCY

(Love Asymmetrical Dress - inlovewithfashion.com, Alexander Wang Noemi Booties, Asos Bag, Forever 21 Necklace, YSL Arti Ring)

I got this dress the other day and I have to say I am absolutely in love. The asymmetrical hem, the sheerness of the fabric and of course the color all come together to create, what in my opinion is, a perfect dress. I decided to pair it with boots to sort of edge it out a little and to also give the outfit a little more weight. But of course the possibilities are endless, the other day I had it over a one-piece bathing suit and a pair of metallic flats for casual cocktails at the beach. Now I'm thinking a nice leather jacket and a pair of high-heeled booties, for those cooler Fall days. What do you think?

I wanted to thank everyone for their sweet emails and comments in light of my recent surgery. I can honestly now say I am 100 percent back to my normal self. Much in opinion due to your constant support, which means more, to me, than words can describe.

Love,
Annabelle

FALL FICTION

(Top - Marc by Marc Jacobs, Skirt - Romwe, Bag - Asos, Necklase - ShopBelina.com, Pumps - Steve Madden)

Looking through some of my latest posts I definitely see a theme developing.... Yellow and animal print seem to be the obsessions du jour... So, when I saw these Steve Madden pumps I simply couldn't resist. I love a thick heel and a hidden platform, for me, this combination provides the maximum amount of comfort for a shoe on such a tall heel. God, I must be getting old if I am talking about shoes and comfort:)

As I slowly begin to accept that fall is here, I moving on to a more autumn appropriate palette. One of my favorite color combination is cream, reddish-burgundy, black and brown. I thought that a little bit of animal print might give this outfit a fun twist. What do you guys think? I also have a new found respect for higher waist-lines. As much as I adore low-rise jeans, lately I am attracted to a the level of sophistication higher waist-lines bring to outfits. I mean, don't get me wrong, I am not yet ready for high-rise skinny jeans, I tried a pair on last week and Emil almost died of laughter, but skirts and trousers are definitely a go:)

On a more personal note, I had minor surgery last Sunday which prevented me from posting more. I am doing better now, so I promise to get back to my usual routine!

Love,
Annabelle

Mellow Yellow, a Day with My Family:)

I wanted to introduce you guys to my wonderful family. As I told you before my mom and brother came for a visit from Canada, so here are some pictures from out trip to the beautiful Getty Villa in Malibu.

Biggest surprise was when I saw my little brother, he is only 16 and already over 6ft tall. I guess he is not so little anymore:) Do you guys think we look alike? What about my mom and I?

Five years ago I lost my dad to cancer and we made it through that difficult time by loving and supporting each other. I contemplated whether I should talk about my father on this blog but decided that what happened to him is a big part of who I am today. I realized how important family is and also how important it is to cherish every single day we have together.

So, I hope you remember to enjoy every single minute of every single day.
Love,
Annabelle

P.S. Emil said my shoes look like the ones Goldmember wore in Austin Powers. I decided to skip the "Don't ever make fun of my Zanotti shoes" talk:)

Jeans - Diesel, Bag - Asos, Sweater - BCBG, Shoes - Giuseppe Zanotti, Jewelry - Planet Blue.
