SAN DIEGO DIARY | RED DAY
(Coat - JCrew, Pants - BCBG, Top - Zara, Affair Small Quilt & Stud Bag - Rebecca Minkoff, Jewelry - JCrew, ShopBelina.com)
Have you ever noticed how certain colors have this unique ability to transform your mood. Whenever I wear bright red, I feel especially cheery and giddy, like I am part of wonderful celebration.
Well, last Sunday I had an occasion to celebrate indeed. Emil and I went to San Diego to visit my Sister in Law, who is currently attending a Law School there. Even though San Diego is only a short trip away from LA, I feel like we don't make it as often as we'd like. We both miss her dearly and get very excited whenever we get to see her.
We spend a wonderful day together, walking, shopping, stuffing our faces and simply catching up. If you are ever in San Diego you should definitely visit Extraordinary Deserts, one of the best cafes in town, at least in my opinion. As you may have guessed from the name of the place, best deserts ever:)
Hope you week is going well,
Love,
Annabelle

Mellow Yellow, a Day with My Family:)
I wanted to introduce you guys to my wonderful family. As I told you before my mom and brother came for a visit from Canada, so here are some pictures from out trip to the beautiful Getty Villa in Malibu.
Biggest surprise was when I saw my little brother, he is only 16 and already over 6ft tall. I guess he is not so little anymore:) Do you guys think we look alike? What about my mom and I?
Five years ago I lost my dad to cancer and we made it through that difficult time by loving and supporting each other. I contemplated whether I should talk about my father on this blog but decided that what happened to him is a big part of who I am today. I realized how important family is and also how important it is to cherish every single day we have together.
So, I hope you remember to enjoy every single minute of every single day.
Love,
Annabelle
P.S. Emil said my shoes look like the ones Goldmember wore in Austin Powers. I decided to skip the "Don't ever make fun of my Zanotti shoes" talk:)

Pasadena Roses...
On Saturday, Emil and I took a trip to a beautiful town of Pasadena and came across a gorgeous Rose garden. It was completely empty and we took our time walking around and later on had a cup of tea in a gazebo. As we sat in the garden we talked about how little, simple things make us happy and bring peace to our hearts. A lovely, sunny day, enjoying a conversation with a friend, drinking mint tea surrounded by roses in every imaginable color. Our lives get so hectic; places to go, things to do. Sometimes it’s nice to sit back and see how beautiful life really isJ
So, I hope you take the time to smell the roses,
Love,
Annabelel

Fancy Hemlines - Maybe a Trend?
Neither a taxicab strike nor those famous diving pigeons of Bryant Park could put a damper on the beginning of Fashion Week in New York City.
With so many shows to go, it probably to early to call any new season trends.
However, one definite observable trend is the embellished hemlines.
Whether short or diagonally cut, the hemlines have been embellished with lace, satin ribbons, or mini petticoats.
This is an interesting trend, since the eye is immediately drawn to the hemline.
Hemlines - Still Up
For those of you who follow one of the sexier market indicators - the hemline indicator, well you don't have anything to fear.
So far, hemlines have been way above the knee.
This sexy economic indicator, dubbed the "hemline effect", was first observed by economist George Taylor in the 1920s and has proven to be a pretty reliable indicator.
When hemlines rise, so does the stock market and when they fall, so goes the market and the economy.
Walking Skeletons
It seems that all the attention on barring size zero models from European fashion shows had no effect on New York City Fashion Week Shows.
We are all for free speech and artistic expression, but these walking skeletons, a.k.a. fashion models that have graced the catwalks, so far, are appallingly thin.
We know the industry considers models to be just cloth racks - but with the high hemlines these models are wearing, ones eyes are drawn not to the clothing, but to the bone coated skeletons that are wearing these designer clothes.
No wonder, there are no new supermodels, as supermodels have been replaced with actresses, singers and celebrities on the covers of international fashion magazines.
Fashions should be used to enhance and complement a woman healthy beauty; these walking skeletons are a bad examples for young women and consumers alike.
