Sixth Street has been attracting many new businesses lately, including Dottie’s, Pearl’s and now Monarch – a new nightclub that is expected to bring a new vibe to the corner of Mission and Sixth.
The street has been long known as a bit of a nightclub hub and the latest upscale lounge and club to open its doors at the corner of Sixth and Mission is Monarch. The club comes from Tadd Cortell (founding partner at CAV wine bar), Manny Alfarez (formerly of Triple Crown), Micah Byrnes (brand ambassador for Fernet Branca), and Chris Smith (CEO of Om Records). The team brought on designers Robert Polacek from imroby and One Hat One Hand to complete the “Victorian meets steampunk” design for the hip new space.
The dance floor downstairs has gold speakers by Void Acoustics and Monarch will host a slew of DJs and events. There is a simple cocktail list featuring many of the classics such as Manhattans, martinis, etc. Upstairs there is a bar that is nearing completion.
Monarch will officially open Wednesday through Saturday this week and starting mid-December, they will be open Tuesday through Sunday 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Monarch is located at 101 Sixth Street.
