Selena Gomez is currently on a promotional tour for her new movie Ramona and Beezus which opened in theaters on July 23, 2010.

The theme for the movie is very appropriate for current times.

Ramona father, played by John Corbett, company has been brought out by another company and he has been downsized.

The father faces unemployment during a time when they have embarked on a major house renovation project.

Of course, this situation will have pronounced effects on the children Ramona, played by Joey King, and Beezus, played by Selena Gomez.

Ramona and Beezus is a film adaptation based on the book Ramona Forever by Beverly Cleary.

Gomez character is based on a character that is mistaken as a wealthy British heiress and is whisked away to Monte Carlo with her fellow co-starts Katie Cassidy from the television show Melrose Place and Leighton Meester from the television series Gossip Girl.
