What inspires a great fashion designer, as well as, an advocate for the environment?
Well, according to Marc Bouwer - green is very much on everyone's mind.
Therefore, he thought of green as a starting point for his spring 2008 collection.
During the summer there was so much rain, so when he walked to work each morning, the streets were so green - there was so much plantation.
It was like he was living in a jungle, OK a rain forest.
Next thing that came to Marc mind was how could he make it sexy.
Marc thought about Brigitte Bardot.
He saw a picture of her in a speedboat in the Mediterranean.
Than he thought, what if she was going down the Amazon.
You know, with green foliage behind her and that was the staring point for the Spring 2008 collection.
Marc Bouwer has always featured eco friendly fabrics in his collections and he was very excited about a new fabric - it's a jersey made out of bamboo.
It's an alternative to cashmere.
It's a summer weight cashmere that has drapability.
You know bamboo is a wooden substance.
A lot of the jersey pieces that you see in Marc Bouwer Spring 2008 collection are draped from this fabric.
Additional backstage highlights included a video tape interview with Jenna Jameson, Jenna says Marc Bouwer has "done me for may years.
He is one of the best designers out there, I think.
He makes a girl look sexy. That the most important thing."
Lisa Marie Presley was also at the showing.
As were videotape interviews with models Nina, Gaye, and Simone Keer.

Bill Blass - Michael Voilbracht designs for Bill Blass fall line are simply elegant.
From suits to gowns, to those sexy fall cocktail dresses, the name Bill Blass line represents class.
Unlike some of the other designer, most of the dress lengths were just above the knee.

Marc Bouwer - Not only does the Marc Bouwer collection bring back the retro chic Hollywood look, but his stance on fur is also refreshing.
A projection at the beginning of his show clearly stated "ALL FUR HAS BEEN SIMULATED TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT".
This crystal-laden white dress, with low cut decolletage is just right for attending an opening and the non-fur jacket adds to the outfit.

Angel Chang - The little girl look is embellished in Angel Chang collection with tunic styled mini dress, sheer prints and jagged hemlines.
